Penn – Pursuit V Spinning Reels

Description

The PENN Pursuit IV Spinning Reel series is built for anglers who want dependable saltwater performance at a price that makes it easy to outfit a boat, build a backup setup or put a capable reel in the hands of a newer fisherman. Its lightweight, corrosion-resistant graphite body keeps the reel manageable during a full day on the water, while PENN’s proven HT-100 carbon-fiber drag system provides smooth, controlled pressure when a fish turns and runs. Four sealed stainless steel ball bearings plus an Instant Anti-Reverse bearing keep the reel operating smoothly and eliminate unwanted rotor back play, giving the angler a more positive connection when setting the hook.

The Pursuit IV also includes several practical features normally associated with more expensive saltwater reels. A machined and anodized aluminum spool provides a solid line platform, the Superline Spool is braid-ready, and Line Capacity Rings make it easy to see how much line remains or how close the spool is to full. With six reel sizes from 2500 through 8000, the family covers a broad range of Northeast fishing—from fluke, weakfish, porgies and sea bass to striped bass, bluefish, surf bait fishing and nearshore sharks. The Pursuit IV is not intended to replace a heavier sealed reel for punishing surf or regular offshore tuna work, but for customers who want an affordable, recognizable PENN reel with a legitimate HT-100 drag system and saltwater-friendly construction, it delivers a lot of useful performance for the money.
